Business Storytelling Photography for Romney House Cat Rescue, Kent

As a cat lover and documentary storytelling photographer, I decided to embark on a personal photography project exploring Cat Culture, visiting places where cats and people come together. The resulting photo book (which you can view below the image gallery) gives a glimpse into cat's compelling personalities and the people who enjoy their company and playful, predatory charm.

Have a rescue cat myself, I knew that I wanted to visit at least one cat rescue centre as part of my project. I discovered Romney House Cat Rescue Centre in Kent purely by chance when I noticed a cat food donation box in my local supermarket.

Romney House is a registered charity and sanctuary for cats who struggle in busy, large cattery environments. It's run by Silvana Locke, who has dedicated decades of her life to caring for cats at her beautiful home, and is a haven for cats in need. Silvana's love for her furry friends is evident in every corner of her home and extensive grounds.

As a cat photographer with a passion for storytelling documentary photography, my aim was to capture the love that Silvana has for her cats as well as the different environments that the cats live in depending on their personal needs - some roam freely, others spend time in cosy sheds and some live in the house with her. For Silvana, the cats are an extension of her family, so I also wanted to show the cat-themed trinkets scattered around her home, interspersed with family photos.

If you're looking for a photographer in Chichester to tell your story, I'd love to work with you too. And if you have a cat related project then all the better! You can view the rest of my cat themed projects here. I'm always happy to travel and cover the rest of West and East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Dorset and London too.
