Japanese Fashion and Dance Photography in Greenwich Park, London

As a features writer and alternative portrait photographer for MyM Magazine I often have the opportunity to photograph some talented and creative people. I recently teamed up with Kat, a ballet dancer with a passion for Japanese fashion to create a feature showcasing popular Japanese fashion brand Liz Lisa.

We chose Greenwich Park as the location for our photoshoot, and despite being presented with torrential rain on the day, luckily I had checked that we had some undercover locations to shoot in too - because let's face it, it always rains in England! The bandstand and the Old Royal Naval College grounds made for lovely backdrops to the shoot and pleasingly, the rain actually enhanced the photos - adding an atmospheric touch which really complicated Kat's graceful movements and the floaty outfits she had chosen.

Kat graciously shared her thoughts after our collaboration, saying, "I worked with Emily on a dance photoshoot, and it was such a wonderful experience. I hadn’t done a shoot like this for quite some time, so I was really nervous, but Emily’s professionalism and expertise put me at ease, and the whole day ran smoothly. The shoot was outdoors, and it was honestly torrential rain that day, but Emily managed to capture some beautiful photos that I’ll treasure forever. Thank you, Emily".

Working with Kat was an absolute joy, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to create something beautiful together, despite the weather challenges we faced!

If you're a dancer or other creative looking for a portrait photographer to capture your passion through photos, I'd love to hear from you. I'm now based in Chichester, West Sussex but I'm always happy to travel and cover the rest of West and East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, Dorset and London too.
