Event Photography at Brogdale Collections Japanese Blossom Festival
Each spring I look forward to visiting Brogdale Collections in Faversham, Kent, to celebrate sakura season and view one of the world's finest collection of fruit trees exhibiting a stunning display of blossom.
This year I took photos at their Japanese cultural event, where visitors were treated to a variety of Japanese experiences including the chance to enjoy a traditional tea ceremony demonstration, learn about bonsai and watch incredible Japanese drumming and sword displays. You could also bring your own picnic and take part in the Japanese tradition of 'hanami', or take a guided tour of the blossom orchards.
I also gave Brogdale Collections a shout out in an article I recently wrote for NEO Magazine about cherry blossom season and included a few of the photos I took. I have a longstanding passion for Japanese culture, having visited Japan multiple times and worked with numerous Japanese organisations, so events like this are so enjoyable for me, and really suit my colourful photography style!
